When I drove it over a hill it downshifted where the Duramax didn't while operating with the cruise control on pulling a load. I pulled our 5500 pound roving radio with the Dodge and my 8500 pound travel trailer with the Duramax and the Duramax pulled better, both were automatic transmissons.
